Water Power for Remote Areas

Donation protected
The funds will be used for developing the technology to provide water wheel electric power to remote sites that have access to a stream or river.

For example, many remote 1st nations villages are powered by noisy and polluting diesel power generators.  This water wheel technology could replace the diesels with a source of green power that is available 24/7.

In addition, the maintenance for the water wheels is simple and doesn't require trained mechanics.

I have built a full size/scale working model that is in operation and providing green electrical power, and have all required permits for its operation.

I am concentrating on improving the efficiency of the blades, as well as improving the transmission of energy into the generator.

My initial stab at the blade profile has revealed that the blades should be longer and the curve architecture needs adjustment.  My next step is to manufacture curved aluminum blade extensions and weld them onto the existing wheel

Another issue is that these water wheels are low rpm and very high torque so V belt slippage is an issue for higher outputs.  I need to develop a different method to transmit power and am considering building a direct-drive, ultra-low rpm generator model.

I don't have funding for further research and would be extremely grateful for any financial support.

Thanks so much.
