Water, house, kids

As much as I don’t want to do this at the urging of a friend and what’s best for my kids I’m going to give it a whirl. It seems that when it rains it pours and I’ve been caught in a hurricane for a few months now. I’m having health problems which will require at least one surgery on the 30th of this month and possibly a second. It was rounded out with an 8 hour ER visit yesterday. I have medical bills that I’m trying to keep up with. My kids and I are on well water and were told on October 1st by two reputable companies that the well has run dry so we have had no running water. I have a bored well that’s 51 years old and apparently they run off of surface water and dry up easily. We saved up enough to pay for access to city water only to find out that the city water lines stop 2 houses before mine and we can’t access it. So we are now saving up to dig a new well. I got home from the hospital yesterday to find that my basement is flooded for the 3rd time in as many weeks from excessive rain. My oldest daughter has her bedroom in the basement and is continually waking up to wade through water to get upstairs. The Sheetrock and floor are growing mold from the continual flooding and water leaks even though I do my best to keep Clorox on it every time I clean water out of the basement. A reputable company quoted me at least 3500.00 to fix that issue because it’s a major undertaking that requires digging all the way down to the basement which runs the length of the house.  Which leads me to my last problem. When I bought the house not one but two home inspectors told me that the back corner of the house has cracks in the brick mason work but not the foundation which I have now learned is indeed a cracked foundation which is causing the house to crack and settle oddly and contributing to the leaks. Which is at least a 6000.00 fix.  I’m a single mom of 3 kids that works as a paramedic so savings are pretty non existent without a lot of overtime which is hard to work when you’re sick. As proud as I am this is hard for me to do but I’m in way over my head here without a foreseeable way out. The only money I have to pull from is what has been set aside for my kids college and I truly do not want to access that at it was left to them and not set aside by me. That’s their future not my present. I don’t mean this to sound as a sob story and if it weren’t my life I would think I was in a bad movie plot. I have pictures of all the issues if anyone wants to join in this fun with me. If you want to help great. If you don’t that’s fine too. I’m just trying anything at this point to get things fixed for my kids. If it was just me here I wouldn’t care and would wait it out. If nothing else thanks for letting me vent.
