Assisting churches and Orphanages

Summary

Previously I have lived and studied in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I will be traveling to Indonesia again in May this year and I would like to raise funds for the Greek Orthodox church and several orphanages in Yogyakarta (Central Java Island).

The Issue

Poverty is a wide spread issue in Indonesia which is why I will be personally going to orphanages and the Greek Orthodox church to see what issues they are facing. Once I know what their needs are I will give them funds to assist them in any way possible. These funds have the potential to go towards renovating the Greek Orthodox church as well as to several orphanages.



Potential Long Term Impact

Giving funds to orphanages will enable children to have the opportunity to recieve an education, something which many Indonesian children never have the chance of doing. Providing funds to the Greek Orthodox church will assist the Priest and the congregation by giving them financial support for particular issues they may be facing.
