We are seeking to secure investment financing in the toal amount of $700,000. That is divided into facility acquisition as well as pre-development funding. (500k for acquisition of the facility & 200k for predevelopment funding) All transactions will assist us in securing the facility, initial staffing, working capital and other startup costs.

Warrior Support, Inc. was formally incorporated on October 22, 2015 as a nonprofit corporation in the state of North Carolina.
Warrior Support was organized for the express purpose of providing our modern-day warriors in our communities with quality, expedient and professional services that empowers them to find hope and give them the chance they need and deserve - the education, medical care, jobs and services they have earned.

Our programs focus on preventing poverty and homelessness through health and wellness, education, job and life skill-building to provide young men and women with the necessary tools they need for success.

SERVICES AND PROGRAMS
EDUCATION

Warrior Support (WS) shares a commonality of purpose with a passion for our veteran warriors and their families. Our purpose is to effectively address the issues that have hindered reintegration of our warriors.

By offering educational seminars, workshops, conferences and other events as well as our publications and website, Warrior Support will educate the participants on subjects useful to individuals and beneficial to the community.

One very important subject that we will introduce is E-Colors, a revolutionary comprehensive communications program designed to enhance effective communications, personal awareness, team building and leadership development. All are skill-set enhancements focused on “personal awareness” that supports an individual in “realizing potential” to their fullest.

INTERVENTION

WS takes a holistic approach to serving veterans. We offer mental, physical, spiritual and legal help in a variety of settings that are easily accessible for our target population. The staff at WS will be oriented to become aware that veterans often come to us with co-occurring disorders, such as mental illness and drug abuse. In many cases, we may find that they also need legal assistance resolving outstanding misdemeanor cases and bench warrants for their arrest.

WS intervention programs will include:

* Warrior Day: a one-day event of one-stop services for homeless veterans, including referrals to resources for shelter, food, clothing, medical care and counseling.

* Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF): provides eligible Veteran families with outreach, case management, and assistance in obtaining Veteran Administration and other benefits

* Warrior Shelter: a safe refugee from the streets where veterans are offered not just a place to sleep, but also housing referrals, employment counseling and other services.

* Warrior Legal Assistance Clinic: In partnership with WS, Public Defenders, and area private lawyers with passion for the veterans will run the Warrior Legal Assistance Clinic, which takes family, consumer and other cases.

REHABILITATION

The Warriors Rehabilitation Center will be a state-licensed drug and alcohol rehabilitation center that serves men and women military veterans. The leading causes of homelessness among veterans are substance use disorders, behavioral health and wellness issues.

The center will provide intensive, residential rehabilitation programs targeting substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress (PTS) and other behavioral health issues, chronic relapse and other personal and family issues that prevent veterans from regaining self-sufficiency.

The center’s programs are highly structured and will be tailored to meet individual needs. Residents in our facilities will receive a host of integrated services, including Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, Individual and Group sessions, Case Management, Alcohol and other Drug Education and Counseling services, and Complementary Alternative Therapies.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS

After looking at several other national programs, we came to recognize the need to treat both substance use disorders and the underlying emotional and behavioral issues that contribute to substance use. Veterans accepted into our rehabilitation program will be assigned their own mental health intern or licensed therapist. Together they will complete an individualized Comprehensive Clinical Assessment to identify specific rehabilitation needs and individual concerns. Ongoing counseling after the initial assessment will be available to address their individual rehabilitation concerns.

Supportive counseling includes individual, and group sessions with couple and family sessions available once the veteran has stabilized in rehabilitation.

WS will also provide continued supportive aftercare counseling once the veteran completes the program to assist with making the transition into the community. WS’S rehabilitation program will be proud to offer a wide variety of additional complementary rehabilitation options to ensure that every veteran is served.

HOUSING PROGRAMS

After veterans graduate from our drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs, they will continue to receive support services to help them reintegrate into society. With the ongoing support of WS’s caring staff, veterans will learn the skills to find and hold down a steady job, and to maintain a positive lifestyle. The end goal is restoring self-sufficiency and self-worth.

WS will offer several transitional housing programs with built-in counseling, life skills training and employment preparation. It will serve men and women as well as their families.

WS Transitional Housing Programs

New Beginnings: Based on our campus facility, this wing will be geared toward both male and female veterans with at least 60 days of sobriety

Home Again: This wing of the building will be designed for homeless female veterans with families. At least 90 days of sobriety is required

Sober Living: Located in a beautifully restored building on the facility campus, it will serve both male and female graduates of the Veterans Rehabilitation Center who are employed.

COMPLIMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES

The WS Program has identified the use of integrative medicine which is a science-based approach that draws on the best of many different specialties, including: natural medicine, allopathic (or conventional) medicine, diagnostic testing, nutrition, metabolism, detoxification, nutritional supplements, customized diets, acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage, among others. These therapies mimic and enhance the body’s natural, healing abilities while minimizing unwanted side effects. The Integrative Health Program at Warrior Support Wellness Center consist of a group of complementary and conventional practitioners who provide each client the option to experience healing as a “whole body” approach, where every aspect of the client whether it is physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual is taken into account.

Practitioners at Warrior Support Wellness Center represent a full spectrum of healing modalities, with individual approaches as varied as the components of human wellbeing. We are in a unique position to address these components in whatever combination feels right to the patient.

Our group helps guide each client down a path of actively learning, understanding, and discovering the healing that takes place in their bodies by treating them holistically.

Complementary and alternative medicine, commonly known as CAM, focuses on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, treating illness and preventing disease. It embraces a holistic approach to wellness, addressing our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through a variety of therapies and practices, many of which are centuries old.

The WS Program consists of a patient-centered approach which includes an initial visit with a Functional Medicine Practitioner. The initial visit will consist of one to one and half hour initial intake and physical examination. The practitioner will determine the advance diagnostic testing needed after review of medical assessment, the patient’s psychosocial frame of reference, and their support systems. The goal is to develop a collaborative relationship between patient and practitioner. Once assessments are complete, practitioner develops a comprehensive protocol to address patient specific treatments. Practitioner and patient will develop goals together which could include any of the following healing modalities: traditional medical support and intervention, functional neurology, mind-body intervention, spiritual awareness, supplementation, nutritional counseling, life-style counseling, and stress management techniques.

Functional Medicine focuses on the whole person and not on the disease which allows the obstacles to be removed that prevents the body from healing. The underlying factors that are causing symptoms are addressed by investigating:

* Past: family history (including where you grew up, your family situation), traumatic events, health history (including symptoms, diagnoses and treatment) etc.

* Present: your environment and potential toxins in your community, social life, stress level, relationships, diet, workout regimen, sleep habits and symptoms, etc.

Functional Neurology

A Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board is certified by rigorous examination in the specialty of Chiropractic Neurology, sometimes referred to as Functional Neurology. A Functional Neurologist helps people regain brain function lost as a result of injury, development, disease or degeneration using modern scientific principles of neuroplasticity without the use of drugs or surgery.

Quantitative EEG Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback training uses monitoring devices to provide moment-to-moment information to an individual on the state of their physiological functioning. The characteristic that distinguishes Neurofeedback training from other biofeedback is a focus on the central nervous system and the brain. Neurofeedback training has its foundations in basic and applied neuroscience as well as data-based clinical practice. It takes into account behavioral, cognitive, and subjective aspects as well as brain activity.

Neurofeedback training is preceded by an objective assessment of brain activity via Quantitative EEG, and psychological status. During training, sensors are placed on the scalp and then connected to sensitive electronics and computer software that detect, amplify, and record specific brain activity. Resulting information is fed back to the trainee virtually instantaneously with the conceptual understanding that changes in the feedback signal indicate whether or not the trainee's brain activity is within the designated range. Based on this feedback, various principles of learning, and practitioner guidance, changes in brain patterns occur and are associated with positive changes in physical, emotional, and cognitive states. Often the trainee is not consciously aware of the mechanisms by which such changes are accomplished although people routinely acquire a "felt sense" of these positive changes and often are able to access these states outside the feedback session.

Neurofeedback training does not involve either surgery or medication and is neither painful nor embarrassing. When provided by a licensed professional with appropriate training, generally trainees do not experience negative side-effects. Typically, trainees find Neurofeedback training to be an interesting experience. Neurofeedback operates at a brain functional level and transcends the need to classify using existing diagnostic categories. It modulates the brain activity at the level of the neuronal dynamics of excitation and inhibition which underlie the characteristic effects that are reported.

Mind- Body Interventions

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is used to manage stress, and promote health, wellness and wholeness. CAM is used to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, pain throughout the body, and substance abuse. The following healing modalities will be included in the Warrior Support Program which has been approved by the Integrative Health and Wellness Program at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. The modalities are transcendental meditation, acupuncture, Irest Yoga Nidra, wellness massage, Mindfulness Base Stress Reduction (MBSR), qi gong/tai chi, and yoga.

EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING

One of the biggest hurdles facing veterans is transitioning into civilian life and finding work. They are often at a loss as to how to transfer their military skills into meaningful careers in the civilian world. WS will make it a top priority to provide employment and training services to veterans of all eras. It doesn’t matter if they are homeless, suffer from substance abuse, or were separated from the military decades ago or just in the last few weeks. If they are a veteran struggling to find a job, or need job training, we are here to help.

WS recognizes that one of the best ways to prevent homelessness among veterans is to provide them with the resources to find work that matches their skills and interests. Employment assistance is a critical component of the continuum of care we offer veterans to help them regain self-sufficiency. We plan to regularly run workshops on resume writing and job search techniques, and may give financial aid to veterans to pay for job training, transportation, tools and even clothing for work. WS’s services will include career assessments and guidance, job search and training assistance and other supportive services (clothing, tools, transportation, etc.) as necessary to ensure job readiness and successful placements.
