Washington III% is excited to announce our next Veteran Outreach effort- Boots on Home Ground!.
Homelessness disproportionately affects our Veteran population. Every day close to 200,000 Veterans in our country experience homelessness. Over a million more are at risk of becoming homeless due to poverty and lack of support systems. For those who are constantly exposed to the elements, it is critical that they have proper foot protection.
The goal of Boots On Home Ground is to provide our local homeless Veterans with durable, comfortable, quality boots. This not only helps to protect their feet and overall health, but it enables them to have a sense of confidence while working towards finding a way out of their situation. Job interviews are easier when you have presentable shoes. Walking to VA appointments is easier. Along with boots, we also provide each Veteran with a pair of warm, durable boot socks, as well as a resource guide with contact information for local Veteran Services. We will be collecting donations to purchase new boots for homeless Veterans in the Puget Sound Area, and distributing them the first week of December

WA 3% is registered with Washington State as a non profit corporation and currently awaiting our determination letter from the IRS as a federally recognized non profit
Donations to WA 3% are not tax deductible but your generosity helps our team all over Washington state help our veteran communities directly
