Alii! My name is Amanda D. Sasao and I have been invited to attend the 13th Association of Women's Rights In Development (AWID) International Forum which will be held in Costa do Sauípe Resort, Bahia, Brazil. The conference will be from May 5th to 8th, 2016, so I need the money soonest!
I am the creator of a Facebook group called “LGBTQ-PALAU” (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender/Sexual Questioning/Queer-Palau). The group consists of over 400 members whom are LGBTQ and other members of the society who support their friends and/or family members who are LGBTQ. LGBTQ-Palau was created 2 years ago in hopes of reaching out to the youth and LGBTQ community living in Palau and abroad to network and support each other. The creation of the group is intended to serve as a means of communication for the LGBTQ of Palau to come together in a judgment-free environment. In this judgment-free environment, the LGBTQ in Palau and abroad connect to express their opinions, share concerns, and overall, support one another. As the creator of LGBTQ-Palau, I was invited to the 13th Association of Women In Development (AWID) International Forum to be a Panelist on Transgender Justice as a part of the Pacific delegation.
I am raising money for my travel accommodations and other costs (including allowance and travel expenses i.e. transportation).
This means a lot to me because not only will I be representing my group, I will also be representing my country and the Pacific in an AWID Conference in Brazil! This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I hope you will all help me out! I am so thankful to be given this opportunity and I am thankful to all of you for helping me achieve this little dream I have.
