Laura needs help paying for medical treatments that are not covered by insurance but are the ones giving her the greatest  symptom relief at this time.    Her teaching career was abruptly cut short with what later came to be known as Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome or (CFIDS) and its myriad of constant flu-like symptoms.  Coupled with a Neurological Movement Disorder; this combination has had Laura sleeping up to 18 hours a day or presenting with stroke-like, palsy-like and parkinson-like symptoms that forced her into an early retirement on disability from the job she loved.

After thirteen years of learning to live within the restraints of her "new normal"  and struggling to keep up with basic daily living tasks she has never given up hope or the efforts to regain her health.   Laura has tried a variety of treatments including both traditional and alternative medicines.   There are no cures on the horizon and symptom treatments are hit or miss at best.   By partiipating in Horse -Therapy she was able to let her walker gather some dust.  Pacing and the constant monitoring of her energy levels has helped to balance these two illnesses as one exasberates the other often forcing  her into a recliner most of the day.

The current alternative treatment that has had the most dramatic effect on her is called a "Meyer's Cocktail"  which consists of an IV push of vitamins and nutrients that go directly into the bloodstream with instant benefits on the celluar level.   Her system has not been able to absorb these orally.  This is not a cure however it has greatly impacted her Neurological Movement Disorder keeping the symptoms in check and much more managable which lessens the drain on her already limited energy levels and thereby enhancing the quality of her life.   Her chair is now collecting a bit of dust as she is able to complete the  tasks of the daily living  more frequently and have people interactions more often as well.    With the Movement Disorder in check she has more energy and requires only 8-10 hours of sleep a day.  She is grateful and encouraged with this new lease on life because of these treatments.

Her fixed income does not allow for continued treatments at $100 a week since insurance won't cover Alternative Medicine.   With the dramatic improvements already experienced from this weekly IV treatment it would be wonderful if she could continue to recieve them and thereby enjoy the benefit of added quality to her life.  If you are able to partner with Laura to meet this medical need it would be greatly appreciated.  Prayer is just as valuable as financial support.

Let's help Laura continue her weekly  IV treatments.
