John's Road to Recovery

Donation protected

Many things in this world happen unexpectedly. Some are good, and some are bad. About four weeks ago my father, John Aucock, suffered a seizure while volunteering at my school. He had never had one before, so this was completely unexpected. At the hospital, the doctors told him all the scans were normal, and they sent him home. Last Saturday, May 30th, he suffered three consecutive seizures-two at home and one at the hospital. The neurology unit ran multiple tests and on Sunday he was diagnosed with brain cancer.
After the sudden passing of my sister, Olivia, in 2005, things were very different for my family, but my Dad was always there for us. Recently he decided to make a career change in order to do something more fulfilling. He started substitute teaching this year with the goal of being a full-time teacher next year. He secured a long-term position for this spring and absolutely loved his work. During this time period, he had a gap in insurance. We are hoping to raise funds to offset some of the most immediate medical costs.
Monday he has his first appointment at Ben Taub to assess his situation. Next will be a biopsy to determine the type of cancer. We are all hoping and praying for the best, and any donation is greatly appreciated.

Love and many thanks,
Meredith Aucock
