Bottled Water for Flint Citizens
The money will be directed to CONTINUE to purchase these two items until HOPEFULLY, the State of Michigan or the Federal government sends resources to these citizens.
In 2016, it baffles the mind that children don't have water to drink, or water to mix for baby formulas. The adults are showering in this water and developing all kinds of skin ailments .
The money is needed NOW.
I would hope someone would do this same gesture if I was in need. I'm asking my Firefighter Family all over this nation to donate to this cause. We see first hand the devastation after people lose it all, so please step up and give.
Am I my brother's keeper, I hope you say YES!!
Update: Calling all people who want to give. This campaign is about to close. When it closes, I'll take the money collected, go to Walmart and purchase the water and filters. The Walmart in Grand Blanc, Michigan will contact Director Carrie to pick up the water and filters to distribute to the citizens of Flint.
Here is the article regarding the information of the water drive I mentioned in my previous comment... http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-sta-water-for-flint-st-0212-20160211-story.html#
I am from the Chicagoland area and volunteer with a rescue called Dogaholicks. We ran a water drive for Flint MI families and pets that has grown into a huge donation. We are traveling on Sunday, 2/14 and we will be pulling into Flint at approximately 1 pm with 2 full semi trailers of bottled water. We had secured a group to help us unload BUT they are unable to now and have canceled at the last minute. We have 3 scheduled stops...Animal Control, Humane Society and Mission of Hope. What we need is help with unloading once we get there. I came across this post/page and I was wondering if you might have an idea of some groups or organizations that might have some volunteers that would be willing to assist unloading all of this water at those stops mentioned. We would greatly appreciate any help you can provide us with. See dogaholicks cares page for verification of this assistance. I am also providing the article the Chicago Tribune ran regarding this water drive for further information. Message myself, Sheri Minkema Lopez or Carmen Brown Moorer with any questions. Again...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
