MOCHA'S FIGHT FOR HER LIFE

Donation protected

SWEET MOCHA is a beautiful loving rescue pup we saved from SC.  Last week she was a sweet, happy bubbling girl who was filled with puppy kisses for everyone she met.  TODAY SHE IS STRUGGLING TO LIVE.

We placed MOCHA with an absolutely wonderful foster family with three children aged 11, 6 and 4 who instantly fell in love with her.  Several days ago MOCHA starting feeling lethargic and under the weather.  She stopped eating.  She no longer wanted to cuddle and just wasn't herself.  I received the call from her foster dad who immediately rushed her to an Emergency Clinic.  MOCHA has been there until this morning when she was taken to yet Emergency Vet (with a specialist in immunology) in Portsmouth NH.

MOCHA'S body is struggling to produce red blood cells. Upon admission to the ER her red blood count was 9.5.  Normal is 50.  Under 10 is considered fatal...yet she has been fighting so everyone decided to fight with her and give her a chance to have a happy life. Yesterday her red blood count was 16.5 but dropped again to 15 this morning when she was taken to the ER specialist.  All tests so far have been negative and whatever is affecting this girl cannot be identified.   Right now MOCHA is receiving a blood transfusion and a bone marrow test has been done.  Fluid was just removed from her spleen.

The bill from the 1st ER Vet was over $4,000 and now we are looking at additional bills from the ER specialist hoping that we can save her life.  How can you stop trying when she is already in this family's heart and there are children who are praying for her to come home.  How do you say this one little life has needs that surpasses our resources?  We cannot.

And so we find ourselves reaching out to you to humbly ask your help.  We realize we are asking a lot.   We also realize we most likely wont be able to raise what we are asking for....but we will be grateful whatever we can raise to help save MOCHA.  If love could save this girl she would be heading home to her family now.

Any contribution is sincerely appreciated.  Pet Tails Rescue is a 501c3 and donations are tax-deductible.
