Kim Frasier is my lifelong best friend and she's amazing. Everyone that knows her adores her. She's funny, smart, talented, giving, and would do anything for anyone.
Last year, she married the love of her life, Robin. It was the most beautiful celebration of love I've ever seen.
Yesterday, Kim was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Kim hasn't been feeling well since November. In fact, initially she was so sick she spent time in a hospital while they tried to figure out what was wrong with her. Kim is one of those people (like many of us) who shrugs off feeling yucky and presses on with work and life. However, this time, she was so sick she was not able to return to work. Doctor after doctor tried to figure out what was going on, and everything pointed to an issue with her pancreas. Robin has been working extra hard to support both of them along with trying to keep Kim comfortable and accompany her to all the doctor appointments both near and far.
Last week, they drove 3+ hours away to Wake Forest to have a biopsy that ultimately provided the devastating diagnosis.
I can't imaging what they are feeling right now, but I know we can all pull together to help them.
Kim and Robin are facing the fight of Kim's life, literally. Kim will win. Kim will kick its ass. But they need our help. They will deal with issue after issue with insurance companies trying to deny coverage. They will have to travel far away to receive treatment, incurring unexpected and seemingly insurmountable expenses. Kim is not able to work and Robin will have to take tons of time off to help her.
I know together we can make things easier for them.
Many of you reading this know Kim and Robin and will immediately want to help. ANY amount you can donate is soooooo appreciated. Please don't feel like you can't give just $1 or $5 or whatever.
