Rick Cebulski is a dedicated husband and father. He has worked for Allegheny County for the past 8 years for Laborer’s Local 1058 and for Pittsburgh Brewing for 29 years until they closed in 2009. Rick has lived in the North Hills for over 50 years. Rick has always been a passionate and active member of his community from his unyielding commitment to his local political party to volunteering at bingo in support of our seniors, he is always looking for ways to take care of those around him. But now Rick desperately needs us to take care of him.
On September 28, 2016, Rick had a brain tumor removed in a surgery that was to be pretty routine. At least as routine as brain surgery can be. However what he has endured since has been anything but routine. After surgery, Rick’s memory and communication skills began to deteriorate rapidly. He has undergone two additional brain surgeries as his doctors try to remedy the problem. Since the initial surgery, Rick has been in intensive care three times and in rehabilitation facilities, unable to work and support his family. His wife, Diane, continues to work her full time job and she spends every waking moment she can caring for Rick and encouraging him during this difficult and slow recovery. She spends countless hours on the phone fighting for insurance reimbursement for Rick’s care. As time has gone on, the insurance continues to cut services and decrease their reimbursement of his care. It is likely that, soon, Rick’s rehabilitation services, which he desperately needs, will no longer be reimbursed at all. At that time, Diane will be forced to take on yet another unmanageable financial burden of paying for all of his care.
Rick and Diane Cebulski are two of the hardest working, self-less, and kindest people I have ever met. And now they need our help and support. Every dollar counts so please give what you can to help alleviate the burden of this unfortunate situation. Your generosity is most appreciated.
