We are a local, small business trying to get going in the K/W, Cambridge and Guelph area.
I recently left a job that was not good for my well-being and decided to start my own business pursuing something I had a passion for....video games.
At the Virtual Video Game Store, we strive to provide good games at good prices, and also provide great services no-one else does, like, delivery and pick-up, repairs, bounty hunting, expert advice, one-on-one communication, help, and more.
We're here for gamers and we work hard for them! We work 24/7 on this store, and are very committed to it, and our customers.
As an online/local only business, it's difficult to get the word out and difficult to get local visibility. We do not have a storefront that is visible everyday and attracting new customers to buy and trade is difficult and slow, since most of our business comes through "word of mouth" after someone has shopped here.
We don't have a constant street presence that tells and reminds people that we exist, and we can't afford alot for advertising, so we're basically invisible. There is lots of big competition out there and entering the market is difficult when your a "small guy" with no storefront. We'd like help and support to get the word out and grow.
We have some great customers already but not enough to make a profit yet. We currently make NO money for ourselves and spend ALOT to maintain, operate, create and grow the business. In fact, any money we do make gets reinvested into the store, to stock it and make it bigger, better and more attractive to potential new customers.
We do it because we love and believe in this job and business, and we love providing a new buying (and selling) experience for all gamers. All of our customers love the store and service too.
Unfortunately, I, or this business cannot survive off love alone. We do need to provide for ourselves, and like any other store, we need to keep stocking the store and dealing with expenses.
With time, the store will support itself, but right now, as a new, unknown store, the growth is very slow because reaching new customers is very challenging when you're invisible. The business works and people love it, but we need more people to know about it. We need to accelerate the growth by getting more games and more customers, more quickly.
We would appreciate ANY support. Whether it be cash donations, spreading the word, buying, trading in, or donating games and systems. Giving cash and/or games will help stock the store and help it grow, and spreading the word will give us more customers and more presence.
