Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
My mom, Elaine L. Sawyer, past away on July 8th, 2018, after a seven year debilitating illness. She and my dad managed her care well but the monthly medical costs mounted quickly. Because my brother, Daniel, helped to care for her while my dad ran his appliance repair business they did not qualify for many state funded resources. My dad, a man of fanatical integrity, claimed every dime he earned, even cash.
When my mom passed, there was no life Insurance nor excess money for funeral expenses. Dad and I took a loan and are paying that off now.
The funeral home applied for state funds to cover $1100 of the expenses. This application was denied.
Mom’s burial marker is nearly ready but the cost is not covered. If you can help us pull in these loose ends we would be so grateful.
Dad is still mourning but he is doing ok as he learns his new normal. Dan and I check on him regularly.
Any money donated over the requested amount will go toward the loan we incurred.
