Volunteering in Sri Lanka 2018

Next June/July I’m going to be volunteering in Sri Lanka for 5 weeks which will involve special needs work, children’s development, and working in a mental health care home and psychiatric unit.
Sri Lanka is still recovering from a 25-year civil war and the 2004 tsunami; hence residents are in vital need of psychological support which unfortunately is very difficult for them to access.
I will be working with local professionals to improve mental health and provide the much needed support where resources and facilities are limited. I’ll also be teaching English, helping residents gain an invaluable skill to help increase their career prospects and secure their future.
I’m fundraising to help cover the cost of my placement and would be extremely grateful for any donations - any amount will be massively appreciated and by helping me raise money you will be helping those who desparately need it in Sri Lanka.
