Recording has been going well so far - we are two tracks in! (AND my kids sang with me, too!) :)
This project is growing and has transformed from a single, illustrated story-song to several illustrated story-songs - I'm excited and inspired!
I still need help to meet my goal!

I (am always working on something) wrote this song and made this video with the paint program. It's an anti-bullying themed, moving storybook for children of all ages. I just wanted to share this with you, to give you even more of an idea of who I am/what I'm about...

My messages are simple. I believe VERY strongly in love and kindness; in learning; in leaving things a little better than how we found them; in being ourselves and accepting others as they are/embracing our differences; in understanding our thoughts/feelings and finding/using appropriate words/ways to express them; in sharing our ideas, creativity and strengths/abilities with the world.

Hi! This is my first time ever doing something like this and, after some feedback, thought this was important to include:
I've written and am currently illustrating a children's book, based on a children's song I've written.
The book will be including a cd with the book's song and some of my other, original children's songs.
Most of the money I'm trying to raise is for a professional recording (I have a great studio picked out, have recorded there before and was very happy with the results) and the rest of the money is for covering materials, fees and postage.
I'm hoping to record in early fall of this year and have everything completed before winter... then intend to keep sending it out to publishers (starting with the ones I've researched) until somebody bites!

Hi! My name is Mandy! I’m a singer/songwriter, performer and visual artist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I’m also a mom and reading with my kids is one of my favorite things to do!
Over the years, the wonderful stories we treasure have inspired me to write some of my own.
This story in particular began as a children’s song that I wrote, about building self-esteem and naming feelings via some of my favorite animals.
It quickly became a favorite around here and my children and I often sing it together.
One evening, it dawned on me that this song would make a really great storybook - and so I began illustrating it, right then and there!
At this time, I’m finishing up with the illustrations and would like to include a recording of this song (as well as some of my other children’s songs) with the book, for a more complete reading experience.
My goal is to record in the fall of 2015.
This entire project is VERY close to my heart because my own children love this song so much - and get so excited as they see its characters come to life through illustration.
It’s my dream to give them the published book for the first time and see their faces light up;
to share “our song” and contribute a little magic to children’s literature;
to offer a unique reading experience through words, art, and music combined;
to inspire and continue the creative cycle - and, by funding me today, YOU are helping me to make it all happen and I can’t express enough how much that means to me...
