On January 26, 2019,  our friend/family member, Vinh was on his way to his second job in Fisherman's Wharf when he was robbed and brutally attacked from behind by six men. Vinh did not fight back or resist and was left on the streets unconscious. He suffered traumatic injuries to his head & spinal cord and requires breathing assistance through a ventilator. He's currently still in the ICU recovering and has yet to regain feelings to both arms and legs.

Vinh will endure a long and trying recovery, in order to regain the ability to use his limbs again. We're asking all of YOU to help us with any contributions you can provide, either monetary or simply sharing this post. As mentioned earlier, he's got a long way to go before he can return to both of his jobs. Please do anything you can to help Vinh get back on his feet. All of the money that is raised will be going to Vinh's journey to get better. We're hoping to relieve him of financial stress so he can concentrate on a speedy recovery! Please see below for the SF Chronicle story:

We appreciate any help that you can give!

Thanks,

Vinh has officially gone home on February 27th. His recovery has been tremendous but still very trying as he has limited mobility and not fully functioning yet. In addition to his physical injuries, he is going through therapy to help him recover mentally.

Here's a personal message from Vinh:
Finally Home. I want to thank you everyone for the support and prayers. Couldn't have done it without you all rallying around me. I am not 100% on movements and sensation thru my body and extremities but it is not over yet. It will get better thru outpatient rehab and will power. Again I want to thank you to you all and all the first responder, surgeons, doctors, therapists and nurses. Without you guys I wouldn't have a miraculous speedy recovery. I thought it was game over for me, but not yet. Sorry if I don't respond fast because I can barely type, its like a work out to me.

Vinh is doing a lot better than expected, doctors didn’t expect him to have this kind of progress so soon. His tremendous determination has allowed him to regain some mobility and feelings to his body. He has been off the ventilator for several days and he will soon be transferring from the ICU to begin rehabilitation.

Thank you everyone for your generosity and thoughtful messages. Words can’t describe our gratitude for your kindness. The fact that we have exceeded our goal in such a short period of time has proved there are still good people in this world!
