'Vikings Now' - TV Comedy episode

Donation protected

What is this project?
"Vikings Now” is a 20-minute, 6-episode comedy series charting the disastrous adventures of 3 Vikings banished by Odin to present-day earth, as punishment for their epic mistakes made back in the old world. The 3 Vikings realise that conquering and survival in a modern society is not as easy as swinging a hammer!

We are looking for help in making the first episode to showcase the series (what is called the 'Pilot'  episode in TV land). That way, with a kickass funny episode to show, we can seek further funding to shoot the entire series, gain interest and deliver something which entertains audiences.
[Historical sequences feature heavily in the series. These Viking ships drawn by Scoobylt on DeviantArt]

Who is this show for?
Those who love a laugh after work, who enjoy watching adventures on screen and indulge in a bit of escapeism (who doesn't?). Plus it is a change from seeing depressing TV dramas.
Back in the days when men were men! And women were men! And...wait, what?
[a little Viking butt slap, anyone? Luke (actor Lewis Scamozzi) is taught how to grab a handful by Steiner, (actor Will Catherwood)]

Where are my $ going?
So that the TV show will not look like a home-made video, here are where the funds will be spent:

Camera equipment is expensive ($30K to buy a Red camera? What the? House deposit and avocados anyone?) Hiring equipment will happen when we can't steal...I mean "borrow" equipment from other friendly filmmakers.

Costumes of the Viking era were made of leather, metal bits and other materials that you can't get at Lincraft.  Weapons also have metal expensive bits.

Location fees. Sydney council loves to charge money to legally film at places such as the beach or parklands. This can be upwards of $300+ for a couple of hours.
(and furry stuff...Viking costumes have fuzz).

When is this happening?
Pre-production has been underway for at least 2 years already (this is not a slapdash creative show effort!).

So far, the team has focused on the writing of the scripts for each episode, casting (which is still happening), and planning of the actual shots.

We have not asked for money until now, as the series is now getting close to the time of shooting (there is light at the end of this tunnel, good folk!), which looks to be in 2018.

Funds will be needed on a rolling basis, meaning spread out over the 3 phases of film-making: Pre-production (creating the costumes, booking locations), Production (when we shoot the project with equipment) and Post-production (editing the episode, visual effects, music composition).

Skål (Nowegian for cheers!/drink up!) - Thank you!
Without your support, films and TV shows/webseries do not happen. Support in any way - a 'like' on our social media, volunteering on set to help shoot, offering food, or simply just watching a clip on Youtube so we look more cool - is much appreciated.

We tried offering baked goodies in exchange for things we need, like Sydney Council as payment for location hire, but businesses prefer money.

So we turn to our friends, family, fans and soon-to-be supporters online for help.

Any donation is appreciated, no matter how small.

The team here reaches into our own pockets daily to contribute to making this series, so we're not asking for a complete handout here,  but rather a helpful contribution with us.

So if what you read sounds like something you'd love to see made, we welcome your assistance, and thank you in advance! :)
