Vietnam Missions Trip

Dear family and friends,
During the first two weeks of August, I will travel to Vietnam with a team of nine from my church to join Orphan Voice in ministering to the needs of orphans in Vietnam. Orphan Voice is a ministry that meets the needs of “the least of these” in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. They work to protect orphans, children living in state institutions, special needs children including the deaf, families at risk to place their child in an orphanage, and children and youth in danger of sexual or labor trafficking.
Our mission will be to play with the children and help to paint and care for the buildings at the Promise House Orphanage. We will also visit a therapy center for those with cerebral palsy and children who attend a school for the deaf, or whatever God has planned for us.
This will be my first mission trip and the first time I have traveled outside of the United States. I am writing you, seeking your support and prayers. I am looking to raise $2,000 USD and need your prayer in the following areas:
Pray that I would have confidence traveling outside the United States which is a little intimidating and that I would handle being pushed outside my comfort zone
Please pray for safety for me and my whole team
Please pray for opportunities to communicate and effectively minister to others
Please pray specifically that I would adapt quickly to the environment (high humidity) and not have any migraines.
As you know, Vietnam is a communist country so we will be serving as a “friendship team” and have to be careful about how we refer to ourselves.
