Enable Vic's Masters Degree

I've recently been accepted into a Masters of Conducting (Choral & Orchestral) at Piteå Musikhögskolan to begin September 2018. Alas, Sweden is a long way from Australia, and to train as a conductor there I'll need more than a train conductor to take me.

Music has threaded itself thick and strong through my life. I remember the simple years of 'Twinkle Twinkle' on the violin at age 5, singing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' at St Andrew's church in Brisbane age 8, my first experience of conducting with dad (military style) in the lounge room, and all the beautiful people I have had the honour to lead - kids' groups, church groups, chamber groups, and a wonderful women's group!

The international language of music is so deeply connected with the expression of the body, hands and eyes. I have sown the infinite joy of music into my everyday life, and have seen it inspire those around me. I believe that my study in Sweden under Erik Westberg and Petter Sundkvist is the next station in my journey and I humbly ask for your help.

The total cost of tuition for a non-EU student is close to AUD$72,500. Living expenses are around $700/month and flight $1400. I am currently working 3 jobs, filing applications for the few relevant scholarships available, and planning a fundraising concert for the end of July (stay tuned for details). My downpayment of $18,000 is due within the month and it would mean the world to me for you to contribute. Whether it be financial help, sharing this campaign, and/or emotional support and encouragement, I am eternally grateful.
