Help The Neglected and Homeless Children of Africa

Help the Children of Africa (https://helpchildrenofafrica.org/ ), a charitable organization that was set up to provide support for some of Africa's poorest children.

The charity works in some of the most deprived parts of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), providing food and clothes for orphans and street children who have nobody to take care of them, as well as giving additional assistance to local communities so that they are better placed to look after young children. The DRC is one of the poorest countries in the world, with around 3 million children under 5 suffering from malnutrition and millions internally displaced due to ongoing conflict. Our work ensures that some of the children in these areas can stay safe, warm and fed throughout the year.

We are completely reliant on fundraising as we don't receive any support from governments or international organizations. To date, thanks to the generous support from the public, we have been able to feed boys and girls aged in few communities in Kinshasa. We have also raised funds to support a school in Yolo Sud, Kinshasa, that gets no government support, helping to rebuild dilapidated parts of the school building so that children can attend and learn in a safe environment.

Long term plans are to build a community centre where local homeless children can stay, learn, eat proper meals and socialize with each other. However, the most important and urgent goal is to make sure that children on the streets don't go cold and hungry during the winter months. Last year, we were unable to reach our targets on feeding homeless children in the community at Christmas because we were unable to raise enough funds. 

Our current plans are to continue to work with local Kinshasa communities providing food and shelter for the children, as well as raising money to build a water well in Kinshasa so that children will have access to clean drinking water. We are looking to raise $250 000 in total. This will be enough to build a functioning water well in the center of the village as well as feed and give shelter for many of children for many years.
