Victor's brother's recovery

Many of you may not know this but Victor's brother, Gustavo, was run over by a car late August. He's been fighting an uphill battle to survive. As a recovering heroin addict, his veins were calloused and impossible to hook up to a dialysis machine. During his month in the hospital he has undergone blood transfusions and has been fighting a bad infection that nearly cost him his leg. The doctors have been very slow and reluctant to help. A week passed before they cleaned out his leg wound. Victor is pursuing legal action for negligence. This past friday he was discharged from the hospital, but sadly, this only made things more complicated. Since he's unable to walk without the assistance of a walker, no recovery home will take him as they consider it a liability. The hospital can't keep him. Victor can't house him. He doesn't have anywhere for him to stay while he gets therapy to be able to walk again. Victor has checked him into a hotel in Old San Juan as a last ditch effort to keep him off the street. This is not a sustainable solution. September was a hellish month for us at Penultima. 2 storms, dry laws, interrupted water service, the death and funeral of our dear friend Tommy and several other unforseen circumstances have forced us to close the bar for several days. All this during peak low season. My point is money is tight and Victor is literally on the last bit of his savings just to keep his brother alive. The $2,500 figure is to recover all that he has already spent. Any help goes a long way.
