A prominent Las Vegas attorney has apparently misappropriated over $13 million dollars of his clients' money, according to an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Nevada State Bar. To date, the Nevada State Bar has identified 51 victims who should have over $13 million in the firm's client trust account. The balance on that account is less than $200,000. All funds donated will be turned over to the Nevada State Bar or Clark County District Court for the victims to file claims against the fund.
LawyersWest primarily handled estate and trust cases, and held custody of funds belonging to those estates until they were ready for disbursement to heirs. Our law firm has been appointed by the Clark County District Court to take custody of the files of LawyersWest and finalize the administration of the open case files. Other local probate attorneys have also stepped up to volunteer their time to help the victims. No portion of the donated funds will towards attorneys' fees, all attorneys are donating their time to help these people.
