Help us help Vickey during this unfortunate time!
Vickey has helped everyone in one way or another whether it be serving your dinner at the Penrose, life coaching you, financial advising and budgeting, or making you watch your mouth by implenting her famous "curse jar." Overall, she's been our problem solver, but now we need to help her out of this one.
She went in to have her tonsils removed, and they found cancerous cells in her tonsils. Her doctor wanted to treat immediately, with radiation and chemo so she had to leave the diner. She definitely will be too sick to work.
Everyone knows in this industry, we don't get paid leaves of absences , medical insurance, paid holidays or sick days. We live off our tips, which we make daily and depend on our loyal customers. This is how we pay our bills and literally make a living. We do not want her to need for anything during this difficult time! We all know how she worries!
Our Vickey is strong, and will be fighting with all that she has this summer to get better, She wants everyone to know that she will be back!
