Vic Provost needs your help!
On June 16th, Vic was admitted to Baystate Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit with Anaplasmosis, one of those new and exotic tick-borne illnesses we've all heard so much about in the news.
Vic was put on a ventilator and diagnosed with heart failure, kidney failure, meningitis, encephalitis and liver damage, as well as memory and cognitive deficits, all from a little tick bite he didn't even know he had.
Vic has been a well-known and active member of the ASL (advanced Squad Leader) gaming community for decades, publishing Dispatches from the Bunker twice annually. Now Vic needs help from this community.
Vic spent 12 days in intensive care. He has since been transferred to an acute rehab unit where his condition is improving every day but he has a long way yet to go, both physically and mentally. Ultimately, the goal is for Vic to return home to continue his recovery.
The impact of his illness has been devastating to Vic and his sweetheart, Donna. He hasn't worked since June 12th and is unlikely be able to return to work. Bills continue to mount. Day to day expenses continue to roll in. Donna's income falls far short of being able to bridge the gap alone and maintain a home for Vic to return to.
Anything you can contribute is appreciated, be it prayers, well wishes or financial support.
Life is tough. Vic is tougher.
Thank you for your support!

Vic is home! He has overcome.some unbelievable obstacles and continues to fight his way back every day. As I've said before "Life is tough. Vic is tougher!"
The incredible generosity of Vic's friends and ASL gaming community has been an unbelievable blessing to Vic and myself. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Donna, Vic's " Significant Other" ... lol.
Vic has started going for rehab twice a week. He's attending numerous doctor's appointments and works every day to regain his strength and cognitive functioning. Because of his deficits, Vic has lost his job and is unable to work. The money you've all donated will be used to pay rent, utilities and daily living expenses as well as innumerable bills as they roll in. The funds you have, and continue to so generously donate, will be deposited into my bank account in my name so I can manage them on Vic's behalf as needed to continue to provide a stable home and necessities as they arise. This will allow him to concentrate on his recovery and not the financial burden his illness has presented.
None of this would be possible without your love for Vic and your incredible outpouring of support, both financially and emotionally. He (and I) are incredibly blessed and humbled. There are not enough words to express our gratitude. We are immensely thankful.
