When she told us 3 years ago she had brain cancer, we didn't want to accept it. On July 24th, 2016, we lost our Nikki: mother, wife, daughter, granddaughter, aunt, niece, teacher and friend who was an amazingly brave, courageous, loyal and fierce soul.
What was so amazing about Nikki was that she never gave up hope and her encouragement was contageous to those around her. Being the incredible planner she was, Nikki had specific instructions on how to carry on without her. For that, we are grateful and her legacy will live on in the spirit of her two beautiful children, Anabel and Gavin and the memories of all of her life-long friends and loved ones.
In lieu of a service and flowers, Nikki requested donations be made to the college fund for Anabel and Gavin. As edcuation is so important to the Vohl family, Anabel, 10 and Gavin, 6 are already busy making plans. Like her parents, Anabel's passion is science related and she is considering a career in medicine. Gavin also shares with his mom a love of "how things work" and we expect we have a future engineer in the making.
To honor Nikki's request, we are asking for donations NOW so that we can help grow this college fund over the next 8 years and help Anabel and Gavin to achieve their dreams. Nikki's huband Aaron will be using your generous donations to establish a 529 College Savings Plan for the kiddos this year.
