Trying To Keep My Head Above Water

My name is Abbey, and I have recently fallen on really hard times with my health. My story isn't unlike a lot of other people's: no insurance, cannot physically work at this time, and trying to pay exorbitant medical bills and living expenses at the same time.

I have lived with Lupus and other autoimmune issues for years now, but those recently turned into something more serious...and something way more expensive. And, to be completely honest, I can't do it on my own.

It's so very hard to ask for help, but I've found it's even harder to try to figure out if I pay for treatments or medicine or things like food and shelter. It's a bitch, and it's scary, especially when your support system in real life consists of yourself and your dog.

A chronic illness like Lupus is hard. Something more immediate like cancer is harder. And, I, like so many others, have found that savings run out fast and things to sell quickly disappear. Treatment is expensive, and when you have to pay "x" amount in good faith to a hospital or they'll quit treating you and your doctor will drop you because you aren't getting treatment...it's hell.

Whatever is raised with this will go to pay for medical expenses, treatments, and living expenses until I can get back to where I can physically work again.
