Ashley Glasco Photography Fund

My name is Ashley and I am a mom of two(Kaleigh, almost 11 and Carter, almost 7) and a wedding and portrait photographer in Richmond.  While in DC on May 23rd for what would have been an awesome engagement session, my car was broken into. I naively thought that my camera and EVERY single piece of equipment I own, save one lens, was safe tucked in the back seat.  How horribly wrong I was. In about an hour, I managed to have close to $10,000 worth of equipment stolen from me. Things that I have not only worked very hard for, but also what is my main source of income. Without my equipment, I have no job. My sole source of income is completely gone.   Aside from this, daughter's purse, was also stolen...she had about $40 worth of money--a lot for a 10 year old. I felt like she was violated more than anyone.  I am completely devastated and am struggling with what step to take next.  Thankfully, our home owners insurance is going to partially refund what was taken, but with the deductible we have to pay, it leaves me with a pretty hefty amount that I will have to reinvest my camera equipment.  Our car insurance company gave a quote on the window that was broken(they wont cover anything that was taken from the car) and the window did not meed the deductible so we have to pay that out of pocket as well.  I am raising money in the hopes that I can purchase the equipment that was stolen and continue doing what I love...capturing moments and helping preserve them for all of time.  This is something that I would never wish upon anyone...a truly horrible experience.  Ideally, I would never ask for help unless I absolutely and truly needed it.  This is one of those times.  I am SO thankful to have people in my life that care and that reach out in times like this.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to you all for everything! I am grateful from the bottom of my heart.  I hope to turn this into a learning opportunity for my children...that despite all of the bad in the world, there ARE good people.
