Stephen Medical Fund

My name is Janet M, a sister to Stephen Aka Gaka. Gaka is a 29 years old young man who was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer almost 2 months ago in Kenya. He is married and they have one son who is 4 years old. Prior to the diagnosis he owned a business as a carpenter and was very happy with his life.  A month ago Gaka was scheduled for surgery to remove part of the colon that was cancerous. During the surgery, it was discovered that the cancer had spread and they could not resection the colon. Because of the inadequate medical facilities in Kenya, a multiple consultations were sort and a decision was made to seek medical treatment in India. Gaka is receiving treatment at a cancer treatment center while awaiting funds to travel to India. He will also need a caregiver to journey with him and provide care and support during the treatment. My brother receiving this treatment means the world to me and my family.  Gaka is our last born brother, “the baby”.  We would like to have him with us, and the trip to India will ensure he can get to play with his son and spent time with his wife. You see year ago this August we lost our elder brother Edward due complications of lung, kidney and liver failure as a result of misdiagnosis and complications of a hospital acquired infection in Kenya. We don’t want to lose another brother if treatment is available.

Your support will ensure Gaka received the treatment he needs in a safe environment. My family is very grateful to all who have already supported us and all those who are going to support us during this time. Any amount you donate will go a long way in bringing healing to Gaka. In addition, as you consider this appeal, pray to God to relieve the pain he is going through and to heal Gaka. Furthermore, pray for the Moriango family during this time of trial.
