Steve also shared that the last couple of weeks have been very special to him and his family. Thank you everyone for the hard work and support at the talent show and the silent auction. Please continue sending positive energy and prayers! Game Day...No Surrender!
On Monday, there will be a talent show featuring a number of Dillon area talents. All the proceeds from admission will go to the Vezina family. It will held on Monday, January 6th at the BCHS Auditorium from 7:00-9:00 P.M. We will also have a silent auction and BBQ at the BCHS doubleheader basketball game on January 9th from 2:30-8:00 P.M. Again, all proceeds will go to Vezina family. Come out and show your support. If you have questions about either event, please call the high school office. Please continue to keep the Vezina's in your thoughts and prayers!
Vez, i hope all is well. There hasnt been an update in a while. You've impacted so many lives. Current, future, and old students will all know your courage and strength. Your an amazing teacher, person and friend. As I go through cancer myself, I'm looking at you to get me through. No Surrender!
Dear Steve, Patty and family, you have been in our thoughts and prayers. You've always been special to us even though we don't see each other often. We are so glad that your making progress. Steve, only you could wrestle with an IV cart...we love you, we miss you and keep up the positive attitude! Hugs to all...
Vez, I have been thinking of you nonstop since I heard about your diagnosis. You have obviously touched so many lives. I was just thinking about that time in Baker when you went hunting and returned with a "small" deer which you proceeded to skin and hang in our garage. Everyone thought it was a dog! Just one of many Vez stories that made me smile this week. Treat this like it's your "hockey night in Canada" and keep on fighting! Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way!!
So happy to hear the good news-keep it up! Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you.
I believe in miracles, keep on believing! Love and prayers to you and your family, Steve.
God is ever faithful! I am so excited for you and your family in the leaps forward and successes your having in this battle. I'm thankful for answered prayer and look forward to an opportunity to visit with you. Drive On!

Steve, I remember the GREAT times we had in BM when I started teaching there. I also remember the BEST graduation speech I ever saw/heard when you peeled off the regular teaching uniform (sweats) to get down to your tux. Then...you kept the tux on and mowed your lawn that afternoon to get your "money's-worth" on the tux! Keep up the fight, Steve!
Mr. Vezina, it's Leona Helmsley (Shannon Hensley). Do you remember that you gave me that nickname? :) Still makes me laugh! We are thinking of you and your family and sending you some of that positive energy and care that you have always given to so many of us! Get well!!! Big hugs for all of you, Shannon (Hensley) Herzik a.k.a. Leona Helmsley B.M.H.S. Class of '91

It has been way to long since we have been in touch (20+ years since those Baker days!) but know that Vicki and I are with you. You and your family will be in our prayers. If there is anything we can do for you from praying to a Black Hills get away we are all in. Love you, brother!
Vez, I am now in remission after a year long battle with non-hodgkin's lymphoma, cancer sucks...you were my PE teacher in good ol Battle Mountain, NV...that little town is cheering you on. Trust me when I say you wil have great days, you will have painful days, it's all in your attitude and great support system. Tell your wife, I wish her strength as we know your pain, it's awful. Good luck and fight like hell, I did!! April (Gonzalez) Amberson
