More great news from Salt Lake, Steve continues to see progress on his battle! In his last lab report, his cancer markers were reading 50% less than what they were when he started! His PSA continues to go down as well! He started with a PSA above 8 and he is now at 4.9. From all the great progress Steve, Pattie and their family are happy with the treatment plan. Steve did have a reaction to part of the chemo treatment last week but doctors will continue with the same treatment in two weeks, but only after they increase his nausea medicine and fill him full of Benadryl. He will get another scan during his next treatment which will dictate if his treatment will change in the future. Steve is hopeful that if things continue in the direction they are moving he will move into more of a maintenance treatment schedule which will mean more time in between treatments. Thank you to everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers, they are much appreciated!

Great news from Salt Lake, "I am walking on clouds tonight after seeing the doctor today. He informed me that the large tumor in my liver had shrunk in volume by 30% and the small ones had become smaller yet. Also the tumor in my colon is almost gone (WOW!) that was welcome news. My blood work was awesome as well so, all in all, it was a very good day for the Vezina family."

Steve also shared that the last couple of weeks have been very special to him and his family. Thank you everyone for the hard work and support at the talent show and the silent auction. Please continue sending positive energy and prayers! Game Day...No Surrender!

Steve got some great news! After his latest scans and blood work, the doctors are saying that the tumors are shrinking in both his liver and his colon! Steve and Pattie are confident that the great news is because of all the positive thoughts, prayers and kindness of so many people. They are so appreciative of everyone and the effort everyone has made to show their support.

On Monday, there will be a talent show featuring a number of Dillon area talents. All the proceeds from admission will go to the Vezina family. It will held on Monday, January 6th at the BCHS Auditorium from 7:00-9:00 P.M. We will also have a silent auction and BBQ at the BCHS doubleheader basketball game on January 9th from 2:30-8:00 P.M. Again, all proceeds will go to Vezina family. Come out and show your support. If you have questions about either event, please call the high school office. Please continue to keep the Vezina's in your thoughts and prayers!

Round 4 is complete! Steve and his family are so appreciative of all the support, prayers, positive thoughts and inspiration that has surrounded him throughout his battle. His latest treatment has brought some great news! His doctors shared that his blood work and recent labs look good, and they are very happy with how Steve is handling his chemo treatments. His medical team said that if this progress continues, and his scans over the course of the next couple of treatments look good they will remove his prostate. He will be visiting with his prostate doctor on Thursday. Please keep Steve and his family in your thoughts and prayers over the holidays!

Vez, I have been thinking of you nonstop since I heard about your diagnosis. You have obviously touched so many lives. I was just thinking about that time in Baker when you went hunting and returned with a "small" deer which you proceeded to skin and hang in our garage. Everyone thought it was a dog! Just one of many Vez stories that made me smile this week. Treat this like it's your "hockey night in Canada" and keep on fighting! Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way!!

Steve, I remember the GREAT times we had in BM when I started teaching there. I also remember the BEST graduation speech I ever saw/heard when you peeled off the regular teaching uniform (sweats) to get down to your tux. Then...you kept the tux on and mowed your lawn that afternoon to get your "money's-worth" on the tux! Keep up the fight, Steve!

Steve and Patty: It was so nice to meet you and have lunch in SLC while we were there with Brad. We continue to be amazed at your Spirit and upbeat attitude. We also continue to pray for a miracle--but hearing you say Jesus is your Savior was the real music to our ears. With Him you can't lose no matter what. The battle rages on but the war has been won! Our best to you and Patty--the time spent with you was so uplifting--we were blessed!! Marvin and Pat Miller
