Safari4U Summer experience

Donation protected
Hello family, friends, and fellow animal lovers! My name is Keiley Ayers and I would absolutely love and appreciate your support! I am raising money to participate in an incredible learning opportunity in Summer 2017 through the program Safari4U Veterinary Program.

First, let me tell you a little more about myself. I am a junior at Berry College located in Rome, GA. majoring in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary concentration and minors in both Chemistry and Biology. For as long as I can remember I have had a strong interest and passion for animals as well as a desire to pursue a career with them. Over the past few years I have been able to gain valuable experience that has further strengthened my desire to  pursue Veterinary School; some of these experiences include interning at local Veterinary clinics, working on a Miniature Horse farm, and the many hands-on labs that Berry College offers to its Animal Science students. I recognize the important role animals play in our world, whether it's the animal-human bond or the crucial role animals play in maintaining our precious ecosystems. The Safari4U Program would allow me to gain even more hands-on experience, particularly in the field of Wildlife and Exotic Animal Medicine and conservation, which would greatly help me pursue my dreams.

Safari4u is located in Chinsta, South Africa and is dedicated to provided students with the opportunity to pursue their veterinary goals and gain valuable hands on experience. For 4 weeks, wildlife veterinarians and conservationists will guide me with hands-on learning experiences as we assist in wildlife, large animal, and small animal veterinary care. I will be able to assist in game captures, volunteer at the East London Zoo, work in the rural areas to provide care for equine and other farm animals, and also provide veterinary care and education to the residents in the Eastern Cape who do not have access to veterinary care. I will be able to gain more responsibility and knowledge as well as make a difference in  the lives of the residents and their pets in the poverty stricken towns in South Africa.

The program cost alone is  $2850,  but with your help I was able to pay the initial deposit to secure my spot in the program and now owe $2260. With travel costs and inoculations totaling  $2300 my total goal is $4560. I have worked part-time for all three years I have been at college, however, I know I cannot make this experience possible without your help! I would greatly appreciate any donations you are able to give to help me reach my goal so I can participate in this opportunity of a lifetime. As our world continues to grow and develop it becomes even more important to learn how to care for and conserve  the animals that are impacted by this development and this opportunity will help give me the knowledge to do so!

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any donations, whether it be through money, airplane miles, or prayers,  will be greatly appreciated and will get me one step closer to going on this adventure!
