Overview:

Veterans Support Solutions, L3c (VSS) is a "Low Profit, Limited Liability" social impact organization located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  VSS has expertise in a wide range of Veteran career planning services (since 2001) and is now working to address the emergency & transitional housing challenges faced by a growing Veteran market initially in the El Paso County Region and  Colorado Springs Metro market areas.

Veterans Support Solutions :
VSS's mission is to enhance the quality of life for Veterans and their families through creative support services, responsive career planning, and participating in and collaborating with local community agencies for the benefit of uniformed service personnel, their families and survivors – including Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard and Retirees.  Our services will exceed the expectations of our clients.  To achieve sustainable growth through building creditability, loyalty and trust from our client base while providing deliverables to our shareholders.

Working with our Business Partner company, Ensemble Ventures, LLC (a 17 year old business development company also located in Colorado Springs), that is owned and operated by Mike Schmidt, (a VSS co-founder), we will be working on a number of online-based support solutions for our VSS Track and AsixPoint Lodging Solutions, as well as developing innovative VSS Villages or Tiny Home Cluster communities specifically designed to address the needs of homeless Veterans and their families.

Short & Long Term Objectives:

The key to success is to provide a needed service to Veterans, while providing a flexible means of compensation.  We will coach, mentor and provide resources of different venues for successful career planning and VA entitlement options with today’s economic challenges.

The short term objectives for the first year of operation include:

1. To establish and gro the VSS “Go to Center” for Veterans who are in need of assistance, job opportunities, education, housing, and other “Transition Services”.  This is being accomplished through the creation of a "Veteran Support Center" or VSC at the Suri Ridge Coffee House in Colorado Springs, CO to create a meetup spot for Veterans to meet with other Veterans and to identify various support sources and be connected to local resources.

2. Help to Address the problems of Veteran Homelessness in El Paso County through the AxisPoint Lodging Program, and through the development and support of Long Term Sustainable Housing Solutions, (Like the VSS Villages approach utilizing the Tiny Home CLUSTER Communities model being developed by Ensemble Ventures).

3. To work with local aid agencies in El Paso County, (Like the RMHS – Rocky Mountain Human Services, Homefront Cares, and other Veteran Support providers.

4. To set-up and fund our Social Benefit Programs through Public Donations, PRI Grants from Non-Profit Agencies, and Fund Raising Events and Activities

The long term objectives for the first three to five years of operation include:

1. To create a social-impact and service-based company whose primary goal is to exceed customers’ expectations and run efficiently like a for-profit business, but operate as a "Low Profit Limited Liability Company" or L3c to achieve social impact goals.

3. To increase the number of Veterans served by 20% per year through superior performance and word-of-mouth referrals.

4. To develop business relationships within local and regional military bases.  To be invited as a transitional speaker for Veterans transitioning into the civilian market.

5. To develop a sustainable start-up company that can survive from its cash flow and be able to make lasting investments in and manage various projects and assets that can have an impact in supporting our local Veterans and to establish a series of best of breed process and to support for other Veteran assistance organizations nationwide.

VOLUME 1, ISSUE 1

Quarterly Newsletter - Veteran Homelessness!

Over the past 45 days we have assisted two homeless Veterans. The challenge isn’t easy and surely was an eye opener for our first attempt to support the cause.

We encountered several restrictions and federal guidelines that most agencies couldn’t assist the Veteran. We tried several local options with negative results. Very heart wrenching for us let alone for the Veteran. However through perseverance we muddled through the process and was able to assist in a subtle positive way for each concerned Veteran.
Each Veteran is in a unique position.

Therefore attempting to meet each Veteran need is a challenge in itself. One Veteran was able to find work, though out of state for a period of time. However we provided a housing options for three days to get him started. Along with food vouchers and laundry options. Veteran is doing well today.

Second Veteran was evicted from his appt. Veteran is attending Vocational School; while doing odd jobs for extra funds to support his family. Will receive disability as of 1 Dec. We provided food and gas vouchers while the Veteran stayed with friends. Today the Veteran is in a reduced low cost housing area.

Homeless Veterans - Local Agencies
Currently VSS is updating the necessary listing of available local agencies supporting the Mayor’s Challenge of Ending Veteran Homelessness.
We have experienced over the last 45 days several agencies have closed or have strict guidelines which don’t fit every case of homelessness.

Should anyone have further information on current guidelines within the Colorado Springs area, by all means please provide us with the details or contact information for us to ensure a follow up with the agency in question.

We are also looking for board members to join our team to assist with accomplishing our mission and weeding through the red tape of local agency requirements. Will keep you posted as events occur. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

-----------------------------
Held over the September 12-13, 2015 weekend, the 16th Annual Sustainable Living Fair at Old Fort Collins Heritage Park in Fort Collins, CO was VSS/Ensemble's second public showing of our unique VSS/Villages concept.

The Sustainable Living Fair offers a weekend of solution-based, interactive, family oriented events designed to educate people of all ages and backgrounds about:

• Renewable Energy • Alternative Transportation • Sustainable & Local Agriculture • Green Building • Natural Health • Environmental & Social Responsibility • Local Economies & more!

The Fair featured nearly 10,000 attendees, acclaimed Keynote Speakers, 150 exhibitors, 50 workshops, and lots of hands-on experiences. For Info about the Fair: https://sustainablelivingassociation.org/the-sustainable-living-fair/

VSS/Ensemble was there to showcase our VSS/Villages concept and integrated Tiny Home CLUSTER Communities solutions being developed by Ensemble Ventures, LLC. This was a chance to introduce VSS to a Northern Colorado crowd, and to share our message about addressing challenges for Veteran Homelessness. We had a number of positivie responses by many off-grid homeowners who frequent this show who thought we had a very unique concept overall and wanted to learn more about our VSS/Villages concept once we have our Mock-up up and running. Below are a vew images from the show.
