Veterans Service Dog Training Support

As members of the Society Of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) Veterans Committee, we were contacted by another SPEEA member to help raise funds to send some surplus airplane seats to a service dog training facility, Southeastern Guide Dogs (https://www.guidedogs.org/).
The request came to SPEEA through a rather round-about manner: The Boeing Company has a company-supported veterans group, the Boeing Employees Veterans Association (BEVA) (also known as BVET) and it was a BVET member in Huntsville, AL who reached out to an Boeing employee in Everett, WA in an inquiry about finding surplus airplane seats for a service dog training facility, because the first thing a veteran and their new service dog do together alone after training is get on an airplane and fly home. Makes sense, right?
The Everett engineer was able to get permission from The Boeing Company to have two rows of surplus seats, but needed to find a source for funds to ship the seats from Everett to Southeastern Guide Dogs in Tampa, FL. When the SPEEA Veterans Committee received the email string with the request to help with funding and the You-Tube video of Mark and Cruiser, we figured this was right up our alley and something we could do to help other veterans who could use some support.
Shipping these seats from Everett, WA to Tampa, FL will cost about $1,300. In addition to sending the seats, we'd also like to help pay to set up a training area that mocks the interior of a typical economy class seating area, so any funds above the cost of shipping the seats will go directly to Southeastern Guide Dogs for the airplane interior mock-up and other service dog & veteran training equipment at their facility.
