Veteran needs help paying student loan

Donation protected
After losing everything to chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2006, I became homeless for 8 years. During that time of homelessness, my student loan was passed from collection agency, to collection agency, and now I owe several thousand dollars more in fees, and penalties. The IRS is taking all of my tax refunds because of it. Today I collect a hardship pension from the V.A., due to homelessness, of $1097.00 per month.

I am no longer homeless, but I can not afford to pay off this debt, as they are charging me $150.00 a month just in interest. I am just barely getting by on my pension, and I need help to pay this debt off. Currently, the total bill is just under $7000.00, but it is going up every month. And if it goes to another collection agency, they will add another $1500.00 to $2000.00 in fees and charges.

Due to my homelessness, my health has suffered greatly, and I nearly starved to death, and attempted suicide 3 times. I weighed just 123 lbs. when I finally got help from the V.A.

Believe me, it isn't easy living on just $270.00 a week, but I'm doing my best.

Rent: $329.00 /mo.
Groceries: $300.00 /mo.
Utilities, and other misc. bills: ~ $350.00 /mo. (depending on the weather)
As you can see, I don't have much money to work with.

Any help you could give with this, would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Michael
