Veronika's Medical Bills

On June 24, I was exploring an abandoned warehouse when I fell over 25ft through a collapsing roof, resulting in seven broken ribs, a broken leg requiring reconstructive surgery, and deep lacerations to the right bicep and shin. I spent six days in the hospital and am expected to be in recovery for the next two to three months. I do not have health insurance, thanks to the glorious disorganization that is the healthcare marketplace. I have received an incredible amount of emotional support, and it has been suggested that an online source for donations would allow those that are willing to help alleviate the financial burden a avenue to do so. 
The medical bills total in the hundreds of thousands, in addition to the smaller financial commitments of rent, utilities, food, etc. that need to be covered while I am out of work. The "goal" listed is merely an idea of the vast debt the medical industry has laid upon me.
