I'm Veronica Klaus, a self employed singer, artist, cook and entrepreneur. I've lived in San Francisco for 30 years and have cherished every moment. I've given as much as possible to the city over these years, yet I find myself drawn to a place where I can really let Cafe Klaus shine, using my own particular talents for making delicious food, entertaining with live music and creating a unique, elegant and warm atmosphere! Good food will be plentiful as well as music and art. Sound lovely?? I think so. I could never do this in San Francisco because of high costs and such, but here, in charming Sharon Springs, NY, it is possible! 
The location is that I have chosen and signed the contract for is a spectacular, historic 1860 Greek Revival Lutheran Church building on the edge of Sharon Springs, NY and it is a charming property! With original Greek Revival style fresco murals covering the walls and ceilings, it has a breathtaking aura when you arrive! It's the perfect place for a Cafe Klaus and will host live music and art during the season (spring to fall). I'll be renovating the attic areas for living space. It is a steal of a deal, but will need much work to bring it up to code since it has never been lived in nor had modern ammenities. I must put in a well, a septic tank, heating, plumbing and a commercial kitchen to make it viable, hence this campaign. Cafe Klaus in upstate New York will be a continuation of what I have started here in San Francisco. It gives me great pleasure to host visitors: serving delicious food in an elegant, comfortable and uniquely imagined Salon atmosphere with music and art. Bringing a bit of the San Francisco spirit, as a trans woman, to NY would bring me such joy.
I can't wait for my San Francisco family to come experience Cafe Klaus in it's next incarnation!
But before any of this can happen, I need to raise funds to make this dream possible.
As an independently employed artist in San Francisco, it has always been impossible to save money, or even dream of purchasing. That's why I must ask for your help in making it happen. Thank you. I love you and I can't wait to see you at the new Cafe Klaus!!
