Female Mariachi Free Performances

$5,000 goal

Campaign created 8 months ago
Dear all, please help me to raise funds to be able to continue bringing some joy and inspire love and unity among the community through our music offering free public performances.

This year I made a big investment bringing 5 female mariachi musicians from Plaza Garibaldi, Mexico to kick off my project “Veronica Robles Female Mariachi".  The total investment of $13,000 included the legal process, flight tickets, lodging, food, and stipends for the musicians.

The legal process took 5 months, and the musicians arrived in Boston, in July 12, 2018.  We started a tour to deliver our message of peace on July 16th, and we participated on TV shows including Univision, WHDH Ch.7. We offered free public performances to the community in Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.

Simultaneously, we were auditioning local female musicians and conducting rehearsals. There was also a cultural exchange among local and guest musicians, and on August 18th and 27th, we had the opportunity to performed all together in the Festival “We are One” in New Hampshire and at the iconic Fenway Park.

Since the launching of this project, we have performed and delivered our message to over 15,000 people. Although we are all professional musicians looking to get paid bookings, we would like to continue offering free public performances.

We received many invitations to perform for free, but since this is our main source of income, we are only able to do a few. Therefore, we need your support. Please make a contribution, any amount will make a difference.  The money we collect through this campaign will help to pay the band members, and we will keep you informed about each performance we do.

Currently, we are playing traditional Mexican songs, some original and a couple of english tunes. but in 2019, I will present a concert that will include traditional songs of the world in the unique Mariachi music style to gather together as a community and sing along.

This project is supported by the Boston Foundation through the Live Arts Grant and The Boston Cultural Council.

We appreciate your support to US, the women in the music business.

Thank you.
