Help Repair a School Roof in Laos

While in Laos, the VEGGANI team had a wonderful opportunity to meet with the children at Natheng Primary School and their teachers.
One of the artisans that we work with is also a teacher there.
Natheng Primary School currently has 43 students with 5 classes and 5 teachers.
One of the main concerns of their teachers is the bats living inside the school at night. Every morning before class, they have to try and clean the bat droppings from the children's desks and tables.
This is dangerous for their health. Exposure to bat droppings can cause a disease known as Histoplasmosis, which often causes flu like symptoms. In most cases, the disease will simply run its course however it can also lead to a more serious long term illness and can even be fatal if not treated. Risking an illness is not something any child or teacher should have to worry about when attending their school.
This is something we absolutely want to fix for these children and their teachers!
THEREFORE THE PRIMARY GOAL IS TO RAISE ENOUGH MONEY TO REMOVE THE BATS AND REPAIR THE ROOF SO THAT THE CHILDREN AND TEACHERS CAN HAVE A HEALTHY LEARNING ENVIRONMENT.
Natheng Primary School is located in a remote village in the Xieng Khouang province in Northern Laos. Laos is the most heavily bombed country, per capita in the world and the school is located in one of the most heavily bombed places in Laos.
These bombings have left the area with many craters as well as unexploded ordnance (UXO).
One wish that the students had for their school was that the yard be leveled so that they could play sports and other outdoor activities.
Luckily the yard has been checked and cleared of any UXO by a special clearance team. Therefore the yard can now be safely leveled out.
WE WOULD LOVE TO RAISE ENOUGH MONEY SO THAT THE CHILDREN CAN LEARN AND PLAY SAFELY AT THEIR SCHOOL!
ANY AMOUNT MAKES A DIFFERENCE AND GETS US CLOSER TO OUR GOAL!
