Through our annual Culture Show, the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) of UC Berkeley aims to examine and share Vietnamese culture by creating a unique performance space for members to learn about and educate others on Vietnamese history, community, and traditions. Culture Show fosters an environment of learning and creative expression for its participants who work collectively in order to produce this theatrical production that combines music, art, dance, drama, and prose.

This year's plot follows the narratives of Amerasians (children born from an American father and Southeast Asian mother), an aspect of the Vietnam War that is rarely spoken of. Culture Show 2016 will explore the complexities of mixed race children as they attempt to fit into a culturally homogeneous society and embark on a journey to find their fathers.
As a student-run production, we rely heavily on our school grants and community sponsorship. However, with the hikes in our current venue price, our organization has to fundraise an extra $5,000 to help cover the cost increase and make the show happen this year. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated and your support is essential for Culture Show 2016 to be the best it can be!
