Many of you already know, but our good friend Vanessa Dean's family was in a serious car accident last night.
Ian Brent, their two youngest children, and her parents were in the accident. Her mom has a liver laceration and pretty significant bleeding, she is stable but being monitored closely. Ian has a collapsed lung which they have placed a chest tube for, he also has multiple rib fractures and a broken acetabulum which will most likely require surgery. Caiden has a grade 2 laceration of the spleen, a bruised lung and possibly an esophageal tear. Brookie has a skull fracture and a 5 mm bleed, the area thankfully is not in a “danger zone” but is still undergoing neuro checks every 4 hours. Her dad has several broken ribs and bruised kidneys.
Vanessa and her family are up against immeasurable challenges in the coming weeks and months. With so many of them hospitalized, there aren't many to feed just yet and the medical bills will continue to rise but the 'right now' need to support this family will be paying the every day bills: power, gas, mortgage, phones, etc.
