Help Vance Kick Cancer's Butt!
By April 2016, Vance was doing well and the tests showed the cancer was gone. Only 3 months later, the cancer returned aggressively (while still receiving treatment) and we learned that Vance's only hope of survival would require him to have a Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant.
The bone marrow donor testing revealed that Vance's 16 year old brother was a perfect match to be his donor. Vance has now begun a new intensive chemotherapy regimen to get him back in remission and eventually proceed with the transplant.
The continuous and delicate amount of care Vance requires and the constant travel back and forth to Gainesville has taken a huge toll on our family. While Mom resigned from her job to be by his side at all times, Dad works long hours trying to ease the pressure of the non-stop bills and to be sure the two brothers are well cared for, and still travels every weekend to care for Vance when he is hospitalized. Vance's older brother does his best to remain healthy and strong to prepare for the painful bone marrow extraction.
Vance's transplant takes place in early 2017 and he will have to spend 4-5 additional months in Gainesville where we will be tasked with finding somewhere to reside that is isolated.
Through his battle, Vance never complains. Though he is Autistic he faces each day with positivity. We get so much of our strength from Vance and no matter how sick he feels, he always manages to smile and make everyone else feel better.
This fund is for those who seek to wish us well and assist in any way with the financial hardships we are facing. We greatly appreciate all that is given even if just a warm thought or prayer. God only gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.
Vance is our hero. We wear lime green to support his battle with Lymphoma.
