Vaccination Fundraising

We are a group of graduate students at the University of Washington who have been challenged to create as much value within a constricted time frame of two hours.
We define value as the increasing the capacity to help others in need. As a result, we have decided to raise funds to benefit vaccination programs in developing nations.
We chose the GAVI Alliance as our receipient organization, due to their track record of bringing affordable vaccines to those who are most in need, and hardest to reach. You can read more about GAVI here .
KEY FACTS:
-Currently, immunization averts an estimated 2 to 3 million dealths every year, but in recent years, global vaccination coverage has stalled at around 86%.
-An estimated 19.5 million infants worldwide are still missing out on basic vaccines.
-1.5 million children die each year from vaccin-preventable disease--one child every 20 seconds.
-Vaccines cost as little as $.13/dose. That means you can save a life for less than the cost of a soda.
-Join the effort to extend the benefits of vaccination to every person by 2020, thereby saving more than 20 million lives.
