Louie Vaccaro  FAIRFAX, CA
It is very humbling for anyone to ask for help. However, we are very close friends of the Vaccaro family and know that they are in need. We would like to ask that you consider donating to this fund. On Christmas Eve Louie Vaccaro, a Sophomore from Drake High School went out with a group of his closest friends after family celebrations. These kids are very close and love each other very much. They were driving at night on Lucas Valley Road and a terrible accident occurred. The large SUV was filled with 6 passengers (4 Drake students, 1 former Drake student and Louie's cousin visiting from Florida for the holidays.) The vehicle rolled several times and the injuries are serious. Louie Vaccaro shattered 1 vertebra and blew 2 discs in two additional vertebra. Another passenger (Dameon Reeder) has a fractured spine and Marco Domitri has a broken collar bone. All the passengers have some minor injuries additionally as well as emotional trauma. However Louie's injuries are the most severe and is the focus of this funding website. We are working to assess the needs of the other kids and have offered to help them as well. Stay tuned for an additional information on their needs as well. Louie has been on and off life support and in an induced coma for the better part of the week since the accident. Our hope is that he can begin to breathe on his own and can be taken off of breathing tubes and life support soon. His surgery took about 11 hours. The doctors have given a 10% chance of Louie walking again, but we've seen miracles and are very hopeful that this will increase as his condition improves. He is currently (12/31/13) at Marin General Hospital, however his care will be moved soon to a facility more suited for long term care in either Redwood City or Terra Linda. The purpose of this website is to raise money for Louie's family as the needs will be ongoing for "years" and the costs will be overwhelming. The website will also provide an arena for medical updates, a place to communicate with the community, a place to post a Wish List for needs to be met, and a site that you can share with your networks to help spread the word. We will also be launching a public calendar where we will schedule fundraising events, needs to be met, visitations, etc. Thank you once again on behalf of the Vaccaro Family. We hope to see you at an event soon.

This is going to be a really cool event and space is limited!!

TREE CLIMBING Fundraiser for Louie Vaccaro by the guys at Tree Monkey Fun!

Okay, I know you guys have been hit a lot. But this is very unique!
First of all you get to hang out at the Town & Country Club! This is a very private property that you usually can only enter by invitation.
Next, you get to learn to climb trees sadly with ropes and harnesses from professional tree climbers who travel the world climbing trees! They climb for fun, but they also teach tribes in jungles how to climb safely so they can get their food and needed medicines with less injuries. It's an amazing company.

Dear Louie, Family and Friends, You are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. We have faith in Louie's bravery and resolve to overcome and grow better through all of this. Like the song goes..."What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"! And this comes in so many ways we don't expect. Life is a crazy unpredictable ride, so tap into all the love that people are sending your way and I know you'll pull through this, let it give you super powers, you're our hero, we're all rooting for you. Louie, I just received the letter in the mail, for the fund raiser dinner at Deer Park. While we are unable to attend the dinner, I will be signing up for a donation to help. My son Dan has been concerned about you, and enjoyed your friendship at school. He notes you are very well liked, and misses you in math class - he hopes to come over and visit when you are back home! I had a similar accident when I was your age - rolled my convertible sports car down a hill, throwing my friend from the car - we were lucky, having only minor injuries. I was driving too fast. I hope to be able to put in a "hair service" with me - at Bellissima Salon, for your silent auction. One of my wonderful clients - Aneice Taylor of Woodacre, started the InSpirit Organization that I believe would be a great source of reference for you and your family. Let me know if you ever want me to come over and cut your hair too - I would love to do that for you. Kim Sousa, Dan's mom
