Rehab for 'Old Liz'
Donation protected
Laurel Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit organization serving the Laurel area. We are trying to preserve the history of the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department and the city of Laurel.
'Old Liz' is a 1928 American LaFrance Pumper. She is in need of a costly rehab. She went into service protecting the City of Laurel in 1929 and ran calls into the 1970s. Now she has her own room at the LVFD, located in the lower level of the firehouse. She is on display, along with other historical memorabilia, in the Life Members' room at the LVFD.
The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department has provided nearly 120 dedicated years to the community, saving taxpayer's millions of dollars. Today we are asking you, the community, for your assistance in keeping one of your historic pieces of apparatus running.
