Feburary 13, 2009 my daughter Amber went missing. I can remember standing in a church parking lot and praying to God to bring her home safely. I made a promise that night that no matter what I would help other families who loved ones were missing. I wasnt sure how I would help but somehow I would help.  We searched for my daughter for 13 months and ended up finding her remains through another childs death.
In the meantime a team of us were trained for search and rescue and I was given a yellow lab which I named Amber.
Amber (lab) choose her fate by finding the remains of another missing girl Michelle Le, Amber wasn't even a year old at that time http://www.sfgate.com/crime/article/Michelle-Le-s-body-found-by-slain-teen-s-mother-2309386.php#photo-1816386
Amber loves to search and does a wonderful job, however she has to have surgery on both of her knees. The surgeon told me that a TTA is appopriate, and the price will be $3759 per knee, and they will be done one at a time.
Please help Amber to search again!

Karen thank-you for the reminder, I have been meaning to give an update.
OK so the first week was really difficult I felt like I had a newborn baby that I couldn't leave, but we made it through, with only 3 additional trips to the vet for bandage changes.
Week 2 Amber is ready to go, except she can't yet, but she is feeling great and healing awesome.! I will try to remember to update!

It is amazing how they bounce back! My Havanese had a torn ACL recently and after the surgery he was skipping around like a puppy.

Yay. My English Mastiff had that same surgery and he is hopping around so happy now and back to normal. Your girl is beautiful. I can't wait until she is able to do all the running and playing that she used to. XOXO

She looks like she is doing very well. She has a wonderful "mom" taking care of her. The best to you both, we appreciate all that you have done and what you continue to do.
