Kisses for Hershey
Hello all. I'm starting this go fund me to help my dear friend Chuck after the recent loss of his best friend, Hershey. Here is their story:
Hershey was probably the smartest dog I have ever met. So loving and friendly, and more attached to her human than I have ever seen an animal. Hershey was more than a dog, she was his baby.
Hershey was born November 26, 2005. And passed away May 19, 2015 at 9 years old.
Hershey's hobbies included swimming and playing fetch. Nothing made her happier than a lake and a tennis ball. She rarely left Chuck's side, and loved to take long car rides on a sunny afternoon. They were the best of friends.
Hershey was a cancer survivor. In 2012, she had to have surgery to have a large tumor removed from her abdomen and liver. Hershey was more certainly a fighter.
On April4, 2015, Hershey became ill. Her stomach was swelling and her legs very weak. Upon taking her to the emergency vet, Chuck found out she had a fairly rare uterine infection called pyometria. Untreated, it would have killed her within hours. The vet was pretty optimistic that with surgery, Hershey had a decent chance of survival with at least a few more healthy years ahead of her. Although unable to afford the costly surgery, Chuck made the decision to give his best friend a fighting chance, and took out a high interest loan through the emergency vet to cover the cost of the surgery.
Following the surgery, Hershey seemed to feel better, After a few hard days of obvious pain, she seemed close to her normal self. Playing fetch again. Swimming in her kiddie pool when the weather permitted. Then she stopped eating. She began vomiting and was lethargic. Chuck took her back to the vet on Tuesday, and before the doctor could see her to do any testing, she passed away in the arms of her best friend.
Unfortunately, now Chuck is swamped in veterinary bills. I would like to help him cover the cost of Hershey's surgery and subsequent veterinary visits over the last month. Anything would help, and is greatly appreciated. God Bless you all.

So again I want to take the time to thank each and every one of you all. You internet peeps are like family to me, and you show that all the time. Anyway, this isn't going any further so I am going to have it removed come Monday. Every bit matters, so Thank You.
I still miss my Hershey girl, I've got that sense of loneliness because I am so used to her being right there, always aware when I move even the slightest, afraid I may get up and leave her. She was a bed hog on top of all that so now I don't know what to do with all that spare room haha.
Anyway, I hope her last gift to the dog park was used well, and in the end I know I'll never forget her, and she will be waiting for me by that bridge. *hugs to all*
If any of you want to get a hold of me down the road most of you know how, but otherwise my email is chromium103@gmail.com
