The Del Norte High School Field Hockey team needs your help!
Since the program began in 2010 we have made it to the CIF playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years, under the guidance of Head Coach Jason Askegreen for the last 3 years.
We are fundraising to provide uniforms for all 3 teams this coming season. Last year due to the rising popularity of the sport, we had 3 teams: Varsity, JV A and JV B. Unfortunately, we were only able to provide uniforms for Varsity and JV A. Our plan is to purchase new uniforms for the Varsity team and then pass down the previous Varsity uniforms down to JV A and the JV A uniforms down to JV B. With your help and generosity we can make this happen for our present and future Lady Nighthawks! If possible we would also purchase, safety equipment, field hockey balls and cover costs for referee and transportation fees.
At the end of the 2014 season, we came out on top as Avocado East League Champions! We made it to the CIF semifinal game last year losing 1-0 to the eventual CIF Champions. This is a big year for our program and we are working hard to make another run towards the CIF Championship game this fall. With 16 varsity players returning, the team is ready to make a run towards our goal of reaching the CIF Championship game!
With our success over the past several years, popularity of the sport at Del Norte High and the surrounding neighborhood has grown. We want to ensure that every student athlete who is interested in playing field hockey for Del Norte receives the opportunity to do so. With your help we can achieve our goal!
