Condon Child Care is a non-profit child care center in operation for 15 years in rural Oregon. We serve primarily low income children with Head Start and Early Head Start Programs as well as community children. Currently, we are serving 16 Infants/Toddlers, 20 Preschoolers and 15 After School Children. We provide before and after school care and programs such as reading assistance and tutoring. We implement the Summer Food Program for our entire community, providing free meals for children all summer.
We are raising money for our own school. We began in a church and grew out of that space so we rented an entire wing of our local grade school. Now, we have outgrown that space as well. Excitement can't begin to describe how we feel about being at capacity but it also comes with barriers.
The money we be spent to assist in raising $800,000 to build a new school as well as the playground and furnishings. We will need to be in our new school by September 2017. Starting a new school year in a new school would be amazing for the incredibly dedicated staff that has made due without and the children that deserve our hope and caring for their future.
My first class of students are now high school seniors and this project is my heart and passion. I advocate for kids wherever I go and whatever I am involved in. Investing in children is a worthy cause for everyone- young and old. If excitement and passion alone could build this school it would already be completed! I'm excited, Lets GO!
