Joseph's Journey

Joseph  is a  sweet 3 year old boy who has been battling the unknown. He has a rare genetic disorder (TLR-8), that may or may not be contributing to the list of defects going on in his body. There are a total of six people in the world that they know of with this TLR-8 gene mutation. He is 1 out of 4 in the United States. They recently just found the gene mutation in the beginning of January 2019. Joseph will be under going a bone marrow transplant the beginning of October, in hope that it will help with his neutropenia. He was diagnosed with Severe Congenital Neutropenia in 2016 which means his body has a very hard time making white blood cells to fight off infections or viruses. This puts him at risk for getting bacteria or fungal infections. Just this past year in 2019, Joseph was hospitalized Jan- May and currently is hospitalized until after transplant.  
During this time both his parents will be out of work to spend as much time with Joseph as possible as he prepares his little body for chemo, then transplant.
