Help for Julie

Our dear friend Julie Dimaio has had quite an unexpected, severe health issue, that began at the beginning of June. A few months ago she was bitten by a spider or a tick on her leg. She kept working, but she started having fevers, and the wound wouldn't heal, got much worse and gave her sepsis. So, she checked in as a patient at the hospital for treatment and then found out she had developed a dangerous heart condition that has put her out of work since that time. Next week Julie will have surgery that will normalize her rhythms, and allow her to return to work some time in September with a pacemaker.

As you might imagine, this has put a strain on a family that functions on two incomes. Julie is a wonderful human being. As a nurse, I have watched her give everything to her patients and families. As a friend, she drove me to doctor's appointments when I had cancer. Her heart is big, and loving. It is a helpless feeling to see someone you love worry about how their inability to work is affecting their family.
